Beauty Blog Break!

Hello to all of you out in Make Up Land!
We hope you are having a swell summer so far!
We just wanted to let everyone know that the make up elves over here at
Moore Make Up we will be taking a little time off for the summer! We will still be checking emails, answering calls, and taking care of bookings (both future and current). We are just taking a little summer hiatus from "on location" work and blogging.
We will pick up right where we left off in September!
We will miss you, but will see you soon enough!
Have a spectacular summer and stay cool!

Beach, Bobbi...oh Baby!

With the beach and boating already in full swing-we want to get you ready! These new cheek tints from Bobbi Brown are just what the captain ordered! They have just the right amount of pigment for a fresh summer look and are super easy to use! Another summer fav is her Beach Collection! Brings back all of those Coppertone memories....take a deep breath, can you smell it?

Love it and it makes me smile thinking of the good ole days!

Pick Your Weapon!

In my office, at my desk, I am humming my girl Janet's old school "Control"...as in Shine Control!

Here in the south it gets hotter and more humid than you can imagine. You feel yuk and sometimes look worse than you feel. There are ways to keep your cool and still look smokin' hot! I am a big fan of using anti-shine and shine control products. You can pick a primer, powder, or blot papers...or even all 3.

These are my favorite weapons of choice!

Bronzing Beauties!

Okay, so there is alot that I will fully and honestly admit about myself...one thing being that I like to have a touch of color or a bit of a bronze look. I'd like to think that I have come a long way from laying out with Tanning Amplifier, to gradually spending less and less unprotected time in the sun, to full on wearing sunscreen everyday. Being raised in the south, we would spend hours out on the beach...and had the idea that who ever had the darkest tan WINS! Boy, am I paying the price today! However, with that being said, it still somehow doesn't change the fact that I like to have a bit of color and still sit on the beach...these days I just try to be smarter about both. With that said, you can imagine I have tried just about every bronzer and self tanner out there. In fact my mission this sumer here locally is to find the BEST air brush tanning in town. I will let you now what I find out, in the meantime check out my favorite bronzers. I picked my top 3, including a fabu waterproof bronzer. My favorite matte bronzer is by Benefit! Truly not an once of shimmer and this product will last you forever. My fav shimmer bronzer is Laguna by Nars! Tread lightly with this one, because it is full impact baby! And of course this new waterproof powder bronzer I found by Hourglass, perfect for beach or poolside (or for a night out doing some heavy dancing!). If you have a favorite, give me a shout and let me know what's been working for you!

It's In The Bag!

Every year the Center For Women here in Charleston has a purse auction to raise money for their facility. They are a wonderful group of women who promote other women and their businesses here locally. They are well known for their involvement in the community and are always ready to lend a hand and give back. That's why when this year they asked if we would design a purse for the Purse Auction... and we said YES! Although a bit nervous (neither myself or Mags can own the title of designer), we were honored to be a part of this event. It's a secret of what our bag looks like, but I can promise you-Margaret and I would have been fighting over this thing! If you do any event this spring, I would like to encourage you to come out for this one! Check out their web site for the event details and we hope to see you there! Happy Bidding!

You ask...you shall receive!

Over in our neck of the woods, we are always talking about the importance of using a good primer-it is almost essential in creating a flawless face. Most primers are primarily silicone based, which creates a smoother surface. While this is ideal for many reasons, it is not a natural ingrediant. We have had emails and comments on helping people find a good quality, high performing all natural primer...well,look no more!

Korres has really stepped up their game in competing with the industry's leading natural and eco- friendly cosmetic lines. You might have seen them on one of your home shopping networks, or as you have cruised through a nearby Sephora. They offer a wonderful way to shop more natural (and the price point isn't too bad either). Try this and let us know what YOU think!
